Who made Masters cut? Projected cut line, players who will miss weekend (2025)

David DusekGolfweek

Justin Rose and Bryson DeChambeau are atop the leaderboard at the 2025 Masters, with Rory McIlroy, Corey Conners and Scottie Scheffler all nipping at their heels.

But while the top of the leaderboard is chock-full of superstars, a number of big names aren't going to make the weekend at the famed Augusta National Golf Club.

Here's a look at notables who missed the 36-hole cut in the 2025 Masters: (And here's our live updates page for the 2025 Masters)

Masters cut line

The low 50 players on the leaderboard at the end of the second round of play, along with those players tied for 50th or better, qualified to play in the third and fourth rounds of play. At this year's Masters, 53 players finished at 2-over par (146), which established the cut. Golfers who posted scores of 3 over or higher failed to make the cut.

Who will miss the cut at the 2025 Masters?

Keegan Bradley, 3 over

The 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup captain made two early birdies on Friday but carded a double-bogey 6 on the seventh hole after missing his drive left and being blocked by trees. After punching out, his approach shot found the bunker short of the green.

Another drive that went left led to a costly bogey on No. 17, and the winner of the 2011 PGA Championship missed the cut by one shot.

Dustin Johnson, 3 over

It was a rough week for DJ, who was even for the tournament after the 16th hole on Friday. But he followed with a bogey on 17 and a double on 18 to just miss out on the fun.

Russell Henley, 3 over

Coming into Augusta, Russell Henley was a trendy pick for many people who were looking for an overlooked player who might break through and win. It made sense because Henley has quietly moved up to No. 7 on the Official World Golf Ranking and won a PGA Tour Signature Event, the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational, just four weeks ago.

Bernhard Langer, 3 over

Another player who was in prime position, the 67-year-old Langer was even for the tournament after the 14th hole on Friday, but a double started a quick slide that knocked him out of the running. The 67-year-old Langer got a raucous ovation after he tapped in for bogey, and Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley was waiting nearby to bid him farewell.

Tony Finau, 4 over

The damage was done by Finau at the end of his opening round, when he carded a double-bogey on 16 and a bogey on 17 to elevate his score to 75. On Friday, a late bogey on 17 — after his par putt lipped out on the left — pushed his overall score to 4 over.

Sergio Garcia, 4 over

Garcia had been playing well heading into Augusta and was even after No. 3 on Friday, but mistakes down the stretch sent him packing before the weekend in his 100th major.

Fred Couples, 4 over

Like Langer, it appeared that Couples had a chance to reach Saturday's play, but three bogeys in his final five holes denied him of making just his second Masters cut in the last eight years.

Phil Mickelson, 5 over

Three-time Masters champion Phil Mickelson was cruising and appeared poised to make the cut, but trouble found him late in the round.

After hitting into the pond on No. 15 — leading to a double-bogey seven — Mickelson then found the water again off the tee on the par-3 16th, resulting in a bogey that moved him to 4 over. A final bogey on the 18th left him at 5 over, three shots above the projected cut line.

Adam Scott, 5 over

Adam Scott, who arrived at the 2025 Masters ranked No. 32 on the Official World Golf Rankings, won the 2013 Masters in a dramatic playoff over Angel Cabrera. But the Aussie three-putted twice and missed a makeable birdie chance on 18 Thursday evening.

Sepp Straka, 5 over

The Austrian won the American Express in January, was T-5 at Bay Hill and has risen to No. 14 in the Official World Golf Ranking, but a double-bogey on nine and then a triple-bogey on the 10th hole Thursday offset three birdies and ruined his scorecard. On Friday, a triple on the final hole of the day pushed him well over the number.

Lucas Glover, 8 over

Lucas Glover has earned three top-10 finishes this season, including a T-3 at both the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Players Championship, and with his solid iron game and improved putting this year, there was reason for optimism heading in the 2025 Masters. A birdie-free 78 on Thursday and a triple-bogey seven on the par-4 third hole Friday led to him missing the cut.

How many players make the Masters cut?

As a reminder, only the low 50 players (and ties) qualify for the third and fourth rounds at the 2025 Masters.
