How much can you overdraft with Brink's prepaid? ›

Approved purchase transactions may create up to a $10.00 negative balance on your Card Account. Cardholder is responsible for repayment of any negative balance.

It's simple to transfer money from one Brink's Card Account to another. And because your Card is part of the Netspend family, you can also transfer money to any other Netspend Card Account at no cost via your Online Account Center.

The Brink's Money Prepaid Mastercard gives you the convenience of having a bank debit card. There is no minimum balance. There's no interest or late fees because it's not a credit card. And your money is FDIC Insured by Republic Bank & Trust Company, Member FDIC, upon card activation and identity verification.

Your bank might offer you an overdraft line of credit that you can draw against. Say you have a checking account and the bank grants you a $1,000 overdraft limit. That means you can spend all the money in your account, plus up to $1,000 more before the bank will block any further transactions.

Netspend lets cardholders overdraw their accounts, but only if they have previously enrolled in its overdraft protection service. Otherwise, Netspend does not allow you to go over the amount authorized on your card.

Some prepaid debit cards let you load up to $15,000 onto your card, while others may have a lower maximum amount. For example, the Regions Now Card has a $7,500 balance limit. You can find the maximum limit on your prepaid debit card by reading your card's terms and conditions.

To mitigate risk, Brink's cards have a maximum spend limit of $25,000/day per card. There is also a $500/day ATM and cashback limit on the primary account holder's card for each Brink's account.

Use multiple cards for a single transaction.

All you need to do is tell the cashier that you'd like to pay with multiple cards, and they will either ask for the exact amounts of each gift card, or their register can look it up. You can always call the number on the back of the card to see how much you have on it.

If you DO enroll in overdraft protection, you will be charged $25 for any overdraft transaction that Brink's chooses to pay. This fee is per transaction for up to five (5) fees per month, at which point all transactions will be declined.

Cardholder may enroll in the Monthly Plan to pay a flat fee of $9.95 per month instead of paying a fee for every purchase transaction under the Pay-As-You-Go Plan.

You can set up direct deposit through your bank to reload money, deposit checks at local ATMs or through a mobile app, or load cash at retailers who participate.

Authorised overdraft

An authorised (or arranged) overdraft is arranged with your bank, and usually comes with an agreed borrowing limit – this can be anywhere from £250 to £3,000. There may be a small arrangement fee.

Generally, with prepaid cards and debit cards, you can't spend more than you have loaded on the card or than you have in your account. If you try to spend more, the transaction is denied. However, some bank and credit union accounts allow you to make overdrafts, and so do some prepaid cards.

Courtesy Coverage allows you to overdraw your Account up to $10 at no charge. An Overdraft Protection Service Fee is not charged until the first transaction that causes the negative balance to exceed $10.
